          Now this is something we don’t come across often, this is a yellow gold version of the AP Royal Oak that started it all, the legendary 5402. Powered by the 2121C Calibre movement, it allowed Gerald Genta to create a super slim profile and was the first model to have the octagonal, port-hole, shape.

          This example is a B series watch, denoting that it was one of the second series of Royal Oaks ever produced.

          I think what’s amazing to fathom is that this design from 50 years ago has basically shaped the future for AP and became their signature design and the one that most collectors can relate to.

           

          The watch is in very good condition, it has a period AP display box and AP Extract from the archives. This watch was also serviced in 2020 by AP, we believe the mid-case may have been replaced at this time.
